Frequently Asked Questions

Who should attend Salon Life?

The Salon Life Convention is designed exclusively for senior aesthetics & beauty professionals including salon or clinic managers, business owners, supervisory staff & aspiring management personnel looking to improve their knowledge, increase their contacts and boost their career.

What is the format of the event?

Salon Life includes an EXPO Arena but it is NOT A TRADE SHOW. The Convention offers a unique combination of activities for senior aesthetics & beauty professionals, providing exposure to new product innovations, shared industry insights, networking opportunities with other salon/clinic managers and business owners from across the country, plus a series of face-to-face meetings with leading brands and a management conference programme.

As a BUYER, do I have to buy anything on the day?

There is no obligation on you to purchase anything either on the day or at any time. As an official Buyer at the Convention, you will be provided with a personal schedule of face-to-face meetings with a range of pre-selected brands/ service providers to learn more about these suppliers.

All we ask is that you must attend every scheduled meeting to give our sponsors an opportunity to learn more about your business’s needs.

What time does the event open/ close?

Registration opens from 08:30am and the Welcome address will begin at 09:15am on Monday 20th May 2024.

For Premium Buyer delegates arriving the day before the Convention, your accommodation will be available from 3:00pm on Sunday 19th May 2024.

Is lunch provided?

Lunch and refreshments are included in the cost of your ticket.

If you have any special dietary requirements you will need to let us know in advance.

What is the dress code for the Event?

The Salon Life Convention takes place on a normal working day so business attire or smart-casual attire is the order of the day. If you normally wear a uniform to work you are welcome to attend in your uniform if you wish, but this is not required.

How do I get to the venue?

The full address of the venue is MacDonald Burlington Hotel, 126 New Street, Birmingham. B2 4JQ.

The hotel is conveniently located directly opposite Birmingham New Street Station, in the heart of Birmingham City Centre.

It is easily accessed from the Station via the Stephenson Street exit, which is directly opposite the Burlington Arcade entrance.

From street level take the lift (or stairs) to the first-floor reception.

Is there parking on-site?

There are several car parks within a half-mile radius of the venue. The hotel recommends the nearest car park is The Grand Central Car Park, located above Birmingham New Street Station on Hill Street, Birmingham. Which is just a 2 miute walk away. The current parking charge here is £9.50 for 24 hours.

If using the what3words app for navigation to Grand Central Car Park: shut.fuel.waving.

There is also an NCP behind Grand Central Park also above New Street Station, but height restrictions apply.

Please note that Birmingham Council apply a clean air charge that may apply to older vehicles. You can check if your vehicle is exempt via the following link: Drive in a clean air zone - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) .

What does the speed-networking forum involve?

This forum is a great way for beauty and aesthetics managers to do business. As a decision-maker for your business, you will get to review the supply market in a relaxed, professional environment away from the day-to-day operational challenges of your business.

You will enjoy a personal schedule of pre-arranged meetings with potential suppliers that you will have selected in advance.

Meetings last for approximately 15-20 minutes. If you require additional information after this you can visit the suppliers’ display stand in the EXPO Arena and/ or make an appointment for a follow up meeting post-event.
